In short.. I am, by all means, a Perfectionist.
Ever since starting to knit my 1st sweater, I’ve been completely anal about what it is turning out to look like & if every stitch is perfect. But then, I also didn’t use a stitch marker. I was so excited choosing this “Baggy Wave Sweater” pattern on Ravelry. This is what the pattern could look like when done in the Tosh DK yarn below – click here to see.
So I went to my local yarn store, Urban Yarns, in Point Grey & bought 4 skeins of the Madelinetosh Tosh DK in Mica. This yarn is 100% Superwash Merino Wool & just so beautifully hand dyed from Texas.
I was hoping that the pattern would just keep waving into each other – but honestly, it was so hard to see where I was supposed to k2tog before knitting into the same stitch before slipping again each time when I got to the next round.
After every 4 rounds of the pattern, I was so confused. So I kept knitting, pretending nothing was wrong.. You can see that at the top, there’s a section that looks straighter than the waved bottom 2 sections. The texture I created was pretty cool though, haven’t felt anything like it yet. Anyway, I’ve decided to scrap this attempt & start a new sweater!
I just bought my first pattern on Ravelry, the “Ease” Sweater by Alicia Plummer. Really excited to see what it’s going to turn out like. It’ll be nice since it’s such a classically casual look & well, if you don’t know me… I’m basically in huge love with knitted sweaters.
Will keep you posted. Xx. S.
